WebAug 13, 2016 · With the BPCR type rifles shooting 500g + boolits you would use a different type. A Pistol (BFR, TC, etc) still a different powder. If you are looking for traditional BP velocity or if you are trying to duplicate 458 Win Mag performance............different powders. Are you shooting lead or jacketed..............different powders. WebSep 28, 2009 · Shooting Goex Cartridge in a 45-70 just loves a hard powder column (75grs) and gets me out to 1000yds with excellent accuracy. But when I pack 48grs of it into a 38-55 - poor groups. And what I could never figure out is how this caliber round had 55grs of FFg packed in it, aka the 38-55 round.

IMR-4198 with either a 350 gr. cast sized at .460 or Hornady RNFP 350 gr. Velocity is 1825 FPS and I get 0ne inch three shot groups at 100 yards with both loads. That load with the Hornady 350 gr. RNFP have taken 4 bison and 1 hog with one shot each.
