How to study a textbook effectively
WebReading a textbook is not a great way of studying. However, you can make it into a good way of studying if you use active recall. This means after you read a textbook, you should cover up what you just read with your hand and try to repeat everything out loud. WebGo to a clean sheet of paper or a reading journal and jot down a summary (in your own words, not quotes from book) of what you just read. Then make some broad observations about how it connects to other things you knew or have read or any feelings you might have about what you've read. Go back and try to answer the questions in the margins.
